Internet sleuths have discovered a private Twitter account with the handle FZeroJP that appears to be associated with an official Nintendo email account. This has led to speculation that Nintendo is preparing to announce a new F-Zero game for the Switch sooner rather than later. Final Fantasy 8, for those unfamiliar, is one of the few remaining main franchise Final Fantasy games not to have been remastered or updated for either mobile devices or modern platforms. The closest it’s received is a 2000 port to PC, which is still available on Steam. Given the modern remake of Final Fantasy 7 and a series of Final Fantasy Nintendo Switch ports being announced, Final Fantasy 8 has quickly become a highly remanded remaster for the modern generation....

There are two significant pieces of evidence indicating that Riot Games may be moving closer to releasing Valorant on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. First, there are multiple Riot Games job listings for console-focused positions working on Valorant. Perhaps more persuasive are two lines of code hinting at console support recently put into Valorant as part of an update. To be clear, there’s no official confirmation of a console version of Valorant yet, so this remains a rumor for the time being....

Serrano doesn’t cite their source, but refers to a new “walkthrough video” for The Initiative’s game being shown during Microsoft’s July Xbox Series X event. He then provides some early details about The Initiatives game. Developer Ebb Software’s Scorn is a bizarre and creepy horror first person shooter that was most recently shown off last year as a PC and Xbox exclusive. Along with titles such as The Medium and State of Decay 3, Scorn was one of the headlining scary titles that made the Xbox Series X a go-to console for all things spooky. But according to Kepler Interactive, fans may have to wait a bit longer for Scorn’s release....

After one reddit user went on a hunt to find someone who was streaming the Star Wars classic game pack on Twitch, they eventually found someone playing Star Wars Bounty Hunter. The streamer paused the game (at the reddit user’s request) to show off the control scheme in the pause menu, a control scheme that featured a PlayStation 2 controller rather than the updated PS4 DualShock 4 controller. It appears to suggest that rather than being a port of the PS2 version of Bounty Hunter, having been updated (control scheme and all) for PS4, Sony actually has the technology to natively emulate PS2 games and add PS4 trophy support....

Cristiano Ronaldo will be offered a new five-year deal which would see the Portuguese star earning a staggering 23 million euros ($25.3M) a year until the age of 36, according to reports. The player’s agent Jorge Mendes is currently in discussions with club president Florentino Perez about a renewed contract, claims Sport, and if negotiations are successful Ronaldo will remain at the club until 2021. The Spanish newspaper reports that Perez initially wanted the club icon to sign a new two-year deal but has been persuaded by Mendes to extend the offer by a further three years....

Manchester City reportedly is preparing to launch a 70 million pound ($88M) bid for Antoine Griezmann — and spark a major transfer battle with rival Manchester United. According to The Sunday Mirror, City is willing to break the bank for the forward, who is believed to be keen on a move away from Atletico Madrid next summer. The club will face competition from United, which reportedly sees the 25-year-old as a long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney....
