Eidos Montreal founder Stephane D’Astous touched on this possibility during an interview with GamesIndustry.biz where he spoke on the possibility of a Sony purchase, along with the general state of Square Enix and recent sale of Eidos Montreal. He said the sales of Eidos Montreal, Square Enix Montreal, and Crystal Dynamics to Swedish company Embracer Group was due, in part, to mounting pressures from Japan on its foreign developers to produce better results commercially....

This is according to self-described industry insider Marcus Sellars, who has earned a reputation of being a fairly accurate leaker of video game news. While Sellars didn’t offer any additional details on the game, one has to imagine that a potential Vanquish 2 would likely be very similar to the over-the-top, cover-based shooter action seen in the first game. Like with any video game rumor, it’s important to take this claim with a grain of salt....

Nintendo took some flak upon releasing their innovative new handheld gaming device, the 3DS, for price points, online features, lack of games, etc. but what they took a lot of heat for was their claims about not competing with low-cost downloadable games, the likes of which can be found on the Apple App Store. Nintendo called out indie devs as “garage developers” (later backtracking on the remark) which my have been an unfounded claim, considering the quality of and depth of some of their own overpriced $30-40 3DS games....

Mamadou Sakho is “99.9 percent certain” to leave Liverpool during the January transfer window, according to France Football. The 26-year-old defender has tumbled down the Anfield pecking order after seeing his attitude questioned by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp over the summer. There would appear to be no way back for the France international on Merseyside, with a parting of ways now seemingly inevitable over the winter.

The Gunners have always had an eye for bringing in young talent from around the world and Wenger’s scouts have reported back positively over Graiciar, who has been impressing in Plzen’s youth sides. Graiciar scored a hat-trick for the Czech side’s under 16 side in front of Arsenal scouts and the clubs have been locked in talks with an eye to bring the forward to the Emirates to continue his development....

The 29-year-old joined Diego Simeone’s side as recently as January of this year, but only agreed a six month contract so he is available on a free transfer at the end of the season. However, Atelti, who have a crucial month ahead of them with a Champions League final and delicately poised La Liga title race, are reportedly keen to retain the Brazilian’s services. Diego spent time with the Spanish side during a loan spell from Wolfsburg before making his deal more permanent but is believed to want to assess his options in the summer....

The rumours began to surface after Hazard spoke out about Mourinho’s tactics in the aftermath of the midweek defeat to Atletico, saying: “Chelsea is not made to play football. He has already ended the club’s interest in Toni Kroos, of Bayern Munich, but is thought to be targeting his teammate, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas. Blind is an alternative to Fabregas and Schweinsteiger after lifting another Eredivisie title with Ajax, under legendary Dutchman, Frank de Boer....

New Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce will be handed £20 million to spend in the January transfer market, according to the Daily Star. The ex-England boss was confirmed at Selhurst Park on Friday and intends to spend the winter strengthening his squad to earn Premier League survival. Allardyce had already submitted a list of names to club chairman Steve Parish as part of the interview process and the 62-year-old is understood to want four new players, with a midfielder and a defender topping the list....

Chelsea have lodged a £5 million bid for Ascoli winger Riccardo Orsolini, according to SportItalia. The 19-year-old has been catching the eye in Serie B this season, netting four times in 20 appearances. His potential has been spotted by leading clubs across Europe, with a scramble for his signature expected to be sparked in January. Chelsea are hoping to lead the way by making an early approach, with the Blues’ Italian coach Antonio Conte looking to a market he knows well for creative reinforcements that can aid his cause in the present and future....

According to Nintendo leaker Zippo, a Fire Emblem remake is in the works, though it’s unclear exactly which one is being made. Their speculation points to the Fire Emblem remake being based on either Genealogy of the Holy War or The Binding Blade, as those are two classic Fire Emblem games that have never gotten an English translation. According to Zippo’s sources, this Fire Emblem remake is nearing the end of its development cycle and so fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to get their hands on it....

The supposed Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked screenshots show what is implied to be a teaser trailer of some kind. We see the back of a character’s head, who appears to be near a city lit up with pink neon lights. Another picture is a close-up of a cop car, which is notably older looking than the cop cars seen in Grand Theft Auto 5. The third and final Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked screenshot is supposedly gameplay, and it shows a plane at an airport....

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was first released in Japan in June 2010 before arriving in North America and Europe in January 2011. The game is a puzzle based adventure game that, as previously mentioned, was written, designed, and directed by Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi after he departed from the main series following 2007’s Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. The game follows a recently deceased man named Sisel as he attempts to investigate his own death as a ghost....

Anticipation for a new Grand Theft Auto title was always going to be high, especially after the continued success of the series through the last installment. GTA 5 managed to deliver open-world action, a solid story and online features to keep players coming back. While GTA 5 was a welcome return to Los Santos, many fans have been hoping for a new map to explore in the next title.
