Ever since it was first announced during the Nintendo Treehouse October event, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has been on the radar of many members of the gaming community. For those that loved the original Hyrule Warriors game, this game has been a long time coming, but for numerous Breath of the Wild fans, having the game serve as a prequel to Breath of the Wild is quite exciting, even if the gameplay does not reflect that of Breath of the Wild.

However, according to a recent leak by a Spanish user by the name of Nintenleaks, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity might be getting a demo version for the Nintendo Switch. Thanks to a post from Nintendo Korea’s website, it was revealed that a demo for the game was announced well before Nintendo officially unveiled it.
As always, leaks like this one should be taken with a grain of salt. If Nintendo hasn’t officially announced it, then there’s no way to know for sure if the news is real, and that rings especially true for this presumed demo. The amount of Nintendo related leaks that have been debunked within the last year alone is astounding. In fact, a couple of days before Steve from Minecraft was announced as the next DLC Fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, many were convinced that the next fighter was going to be Tracer from Overwatch.
Then again, Nintenleaks could honestly be on to something in terms of this rumor specifically. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity releases in less than a month, so it would make sense to release a demo right before the game’s release or at least somewhere within that timeframe. After all, Nintendo did exactly the same thing with Pikmin 3 Deluxe, releasing the demo just a few weeks ahead of the main game’s release.
Either way, there are plenty of reasons to be excited for Age of Calamity, even if there turns out to not be any kind of demo for the game. Given how underrated the first entry in the series was, hopefully, the newfound influence from Breath of the Wild will make this a more popular installment.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set to release on November 30th, 2020.
