According to a new post on Rogers’ blog today, she ends her response to a query regarding Pokemon on Switch and what we should expect from it, stating that the title “will be revealed before the end of this month”. Rogers then goes on to suggest that the RPG is indeed coming out this year, and that fans’ curiosity will be piqued when the actual name of the game is unveiled, writing, “I suspect that the naming/branding for this year’s Pokemon Switch title (there’s two versions) might raise a few eyebrows.”
Should Rogers’ statements be accurate, then this will surely surprise many Pokemon fans, as the majority of would-be Trainers not only expected that Nintendo would save such a major announcement for E3 2018, but also that Game Freak would require more time to develop the title in order to ensure it launches with a high benchmark of quality. After all, the initial release window shared by the studio was “2018 or later”, implying that the latter was more likely.
Taking all of this into consideration, Pokemon fans would undoubtedly be ecstatic to learn that the brand’s first-ever “core” entry for consoles – on Nintendo Switch, no less – has potential to be showcased before the end of the month and actually come out in 2018. Of course, we will simply have to wait and see if Rogers’ claims come to pass, as any number of issues could crop up in between now and then, with delays always being an ever-present possibility in the gaming industry.
Pokemon on Nintendo Switch is currently scheduled to launch at some point in 2018 or later.
