Unlike the free games on PlayStation Plus Essential every month, which replace the previous month’s games and are announced within the first few days, the PlayStation Plus Premium updates are playing with the rules a bit. PlayStation Plus Premium’s games will come towards the middle of the month, giving fans a chance to access a number of new and interesting titles without sacrificing the others in their library. However, similarly to the PlayStation Plus Essential games that leak every month, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium’s upcoming titles have reportedly been leaked, with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry, The Ezio Collection, and Saints Row 4: Re-Elected joining the service.

According to leaker BlackBate, this extensive list of titles only makes up “some games” that PS Plus Premium will be adding in July. According to BlackBate, the full list will be available to subscribers from July 19, which lines up with the release date of Stray, which will reportedly be a day one launch title for the PS Plus Premium service. It should be noted that BlackBate has a decent reputation as a leaker, but not normally in the PS Plus games space, so fans should take this with a grain of salt.
PlayStation Plus Premium’s offering of Final Fantasy 7 may be enough to sway some skeptics into signing up for the service. With the recent announcement of the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake, now could be the perfect time to revisit the iconic game. Some gamers are also saying online that with Skull and Bones on the way, playing Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is the perfect method to get into the pirating spirit.
However, it is also possible that with there being an upcoming Assassin’s Creed event in September, Sony is giving fans of the franchise a chance to hype themselves up for some potential big reveals. As well, Saints Row 4: Re-Elected can give subscribers a fresh look at the wacky gameplay the series is known for before the new Saints Row drops in August. Of course, this is all speculation, but the timing of Sony’s newest games for PlayStation Plus Premium indicates preparation for some big titles and reveals in the summer.
