The Metro are reporting that the Gunners boss, who has come under scrutiny in the past for his transfer policies, is keen to sign the 17-year-old for a fee of just £275,000 after having scouts watch him several times already this season.
The Poland under-17 international already has two goals to his name for his club side in just seven league appearances and has been impressing some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Wenger already has an array of midfield talent at his disposal, but given the price that Kownacki would be available at he could be tempted to give the youngster a shot.
The midfielder’s current deal runs out next summer and if the Gunners legend doesn’t make his move this year, he will almost certainly be keeping tabs on him during his final season in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
