The Swiss midfielder, who has been selected by his country to play at the World Cup in Brazil, has been a peripheral figure at Bayern Munich over the last couple of years and could be set to move on.
He earned his move to the Allianz Arena after a stunning season with FC Basel, which included a goal in the Champions League which knocked Manchester United out of the competition.
Shaqiri is very highly-rated in Germany, especially at Bayern, but with the sheer number of world class talents in the squad and ahead of him in the first-team, Shaqiri could be forced to move on and seek first-team football.
It is thought that Bayern would be tempted with a bid of around £15 million for the player, who has not been a regular since moving from Basel in 2012.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is also looking at other deals having submitted a bid for Southampton’s Adam Lallana, while also keeping a watching eye of his team-mate, Dejan Lovren, who Liverpool were interested in last summer.
Rodgers is keen to improve his entire squad ahead of a testing campaign next season where he will manage in the Champions League for the first time. He will also have to juggle a Premier League title challenge after securing their place in second in the table on the final day of the season.
